教育经历
·1964年毕业于华中师范大学化学系，毕业后留校任助教；
·1980年赴美国State University of New York at Albany化学系学习；
·1981年转入Oklahoma State University生化系任Research associate；
·1983年回国。
工作经历
·从1983年开始一直进行有关药物化学、有机化学和生物有机化学的研究和教学；
·1986、1989、1993、1995和1998年又先后应邀赴美进行合作研究；
·1992年任教授；
·1993年任博士生导师（国务院学位委员会批准）；
·1997年以后，多次应邀到香港科技大学、香港中文大学与香港理工大学讲学和合作研究；
·1998年调入中山大学化学系；
·现为中山大学药学院药物化学研究所所长，中山大学化学与化学工程学院生物有机化学研究室主任。

获奖情况
主持的化学专业本科《有机化学》课程于2004年被评选为国家级精品课程；
现为中国化学会《有机化学》和Chinese Chemical Letters 编委。
